As stated in earlier posts, the role of the 1st Defender is to pressure the player with the ball. The role of the 2nd Defender is to provide coverage. The 2nd Defender can cover for a pass or cover if the 1st Defender is beaten and then quickly become the new 1st Defender.
And as always remember, if your team doesn't have the ball - THEN YOU ARE ALL DEFENDERS!!!
